McLeish Estate Semillon Chardonnay 2011

This had a little wow factor. Lovely clean flavours and a ripping price to boot.

A blend of 60% Semillon and 40 % Chardonnay. Some Chardonnay was aged briefly in one year old oak, a small portion being barrel fermented.

Plenty of apple flavours with some citrus then a rush of stone fruit follow from the Chardonnay component. Green apple acidity cleanses the palate. Very tasty indeed and a super drop for a hot day. $18 bucks = bargain!

Forget matching it with food, it'll be gone in quick time.

Available online or cellar door.
