Montalto Pennon Hill Chardonnay 2015
Whiffs of green mango, white peach, a squeeze of lime and some nuttiness. Dig a little further and there's a cheesy thing going on. Maybe I'm mad. Maybe it's just the funky factor that winemaker Simon Black brings to his wines. Regardless, this is a tasty wine and one I'd happily come back for time and again. Nicely weighted with some textural goodness, the length delivers a delicious persistence.
Like the Pennon Hill Pinot, Black has hit the mark for quality and value.
Drink now and over the next few years.
92/100 - Very good.
Region: Mornington Peninsula
