The Apsley Shiraz Cabernet 2015

A small project wine coming off a single vineyard from far western Victoria established in 1989.

Fruit from this vineyard is classified as 'upper Treasury (Estate) quality'. For this, the owners decided to keep some for themselves. The wine is made by Phil Lehmann.

I shared this with a meal of roast lamb and it drank very well. Cassis, black currant, some blue fruit and black tea leaves. There's a good vibe about it. Depth, length and character all put the shoulder to the wheel. Good use of oak too.

A couple of glasses were very much enjoyed.
