Comyns & Co Pinot Shiraz 2016

The new gen Hunter winemakers are bringing back the old Hunter River Burgundy blend - Pinot Shiraz. Clever wine this.

Captivating aromas. Expected cherries and exotic spice, but it's the slight aniseed, fennel and bay leaf which gets my attention. Interesting. Intriguing - I dig it! There's a good vibe to the fruit with an acid crunch. A length lingers but soft fruit just ticks away absolutely relaxed and unforced. Moreish and soft, a delicious wine. Rip in.

Drink now to six years.
