Tyrrell's Single Vineyard Stevens Semillon 2011

What a terrific example of the Hunter Valley special - Semillon. No where else in the world has this variety taken so well.

The striking thing about this wine is it's absolute purity. Oh so fresh despite already sitting at six years of age.

Scents of citrus, sea spray, lemongrass and fresh cut herbs. The fatness of the variety is on show as it sprawls across the mouth. Some aging characters are starting to show but it's that fresh delivery which is quite profound.

Drink now but be comforted by many years of aging ahead.
