Westcourt Riesling 2016

Here's a beauty from a place you'd least expect. I received this Riesling as part of a mail out representing the trophy winning wines from the Mudgee Wine Show. This Westcourt Riesling took out Champion Wine of Show after scooping the pool as Most Outstanding White Wine and Best White Wine (not Chardonnay or Semillon).

Malcolm Roth owns the Westcourt vineyards and has been involved in the Mudgee industry for 69 years - a fair innings that.

This smells of bath salts and lemon juice. There's an air of cool and calm about its presentation. A touch of pith comes with a lime splice splash and a minerality driving through at ease. It feels a little tight yet incredibly moreish finishing with chalky feels and the absolute need to put the glass to your mouth again. An excellent buy for $25! No website supplied but crawl on hand and knee to seek it out.

Drink now to a decade - go now to embrace the freshness I say.
