Margaret River Cabernet Merlot. Good varietal aromas start things off, think roasted peppers, leafy blackcurrant and red plums flanked by some oak.
Tasting blind, this was well behind the pack though when a few Cabernet Merlots were lined up. The fruit lacks intensity as though it loses concentration and forgets it's purpose. Blackcurrant tries hard to keep things on the track but a harsh sour and bitey lemony acid steals the limelight. Not overly enjoyable, the price is certainly ambitious.
