Singlefile Wines The Vivienne Chardonnay 2015

Wow factor Chardonnay. Only released in exceptional years, this is a complex and generous work of art.

Only 87 cases were produced. Whole bunch pressed, wild yeast fermentation in new and used Franch oak followed by 8 months on lees.

Gorgeous aromas of citrus, peach, caramelised white nectarine, soft whiff of white flowers and match sticks. Oak plays its hand and will continue to soften with more time in bottle. Mouth-filling with an underlying creaminess, lashing of roasted nuts and nougat add layers of interest along with a dab of butterscotch late. I loved the pineapple like acid tang to finish.
A Chardonnay which will continue to evolve beautifully.

Best drinking 2019 to 2029.
