A ripping little wine this but the specs have me confused. The sample bottle had it as a Cabernet Shiraz blend but the website states this as a Shiraz Cabernet. Yet the website says it's a 60/40 Cabernet dominant blend. Confused yet?
All that aside, it's bursting with plums, dark fruits and berries, charcoal, black olives, dried Mediterranean herbs and even a sneaky bay leaf touch. Raspberry slides in with more time in the glass. This received the trophy at the 2017 Mudgee Show for Best Classic Blend. The mouth is coated generously yet consistently with puckering and sapping tannins the parting gift. Gimme lamb and lots of it. Good buying too.
Drink now to eight years.
