Curly Flat Lacuna Chardonnay 2017

Such a beautiful Chardonnay. Winemaker Matt Harrop says the Lacuna Chardonnay hasn't been bottled since 2013. It's, "a humble nod to Chablis," he adds.

85% saw stainless steel. The remaining saw oak and went through MLF.

Happiness comes in spades. Flinty, minerally, vanilla cream,  matchsticks. Waves of white fleshed stonefruit work their way through effortlessly. Some tension evident but it's not overly tight. Mouthwatering acidity awaits a long and moreish finish.
I looked at this over a couple of days and it was at its best in the latter stages. Some time in bottle will be of benefit or pour and come back to it in a couple of hours.
In the end, a big 'yes please' from me.

Drink to six years.
