Cooks Lot Iconique Barrique Chardonnay 2016
A Chardonnay with weight and persistence that can't be missed.
Handpicked, whole bunch pressed and wild yeast fermented in 1000L rotating French oak barrels. Matured in foudre for 18 months with extended lees contact.
Burnt toffee, vanilla cream, touches of mango and buttered toast aromas lasso your interest early. Swirl the glass and swirl some more as layers gradually peel back. White-fleshed stone fruit and grapefruit through the mouth are backed up by a ribbon of vanilla cream and that burnt toffee and butterscotch comes back for more. A wine that sways and moves with poise to a long and moreish finish. A great Chardonnay indeed.
