Sublime Grenache! Planted in 1946, these bush vines deliver pristine fruit. The highest section of this 1.7 hectare McLaren Vale site sits 210m above.
Alpine Valley Chardonnay in the zone. It took a little while to get moving, but once the engine was revving it was a sweet ride.

I first saw this Dam Block when it was released a couple of years ago. At the time, it was finally deemed good enough to stand on its own two feet rather than being blended away as was the case previously. Good to see it back once more - it's a peach.

Well, the first 2019 wine has arrived and what a noise it has made! A quick search reveals it can be bought for around $6 - a burst of refreshment everyone can afford.
Chardonnay sourced from Beechworth Wine Estates. Only two barrels made, 50% new French oak was used.

A sublime example of McLaren Vale Shiraz. Superbly handled, this has nothing but a beating heart that oozes class and precision.
Goldman Wines are contract made with fruit sourced from various regions around Australia. This Hunter Valley Shiraz ticks the happiness box and then some.
The measured delivery of complexity and elegance is what captivated me about this Cabernet from the Bendigo region.

A great little wine sourced from 41-year-old vines in Mudgee, NSW, this Shiraz saw 15 months of one, two and three-year-old French and American oak.
Rosés like this call for large plates of tapas surrounded by good company. Made from Shiraz sourced from the Alpine Valley, this goes very well.

Smart Chardonnay named in honour of the family who established the winery with son Rob Diletti now the winemaker. I could drink lots of this.
Flametree's entry-level Chardonnay and it's a rock-solid wine. I would happily have a couple of glasses. Gee, we are blessed with quality at this price point in Australia.
