A tasty new medium-bodied release from Golden Grove Estate. The rolling hills on the label create a perfect canvas for the easy-going vibe it exudes.
A melting pot of fruit all the rage here: Durif, Malbec, Nero d'Avola and Barbera (40/33/18/9). Charcoal, lead pencil, black earth and the dust of a country road (funnily enough) all add to the inviting aromas. The dark fruit fills the mouth as it purs without obstruction. Without a splinter of oak insight, it's made for food. A clutch of tannin squeezes firm and knocks the long length into shape. One of those sip and don't think types worth sloshing in the glass. Cruisy weekends and a meat board the go here.
Drink now to three years.
