A charming and gracious Shiraz from the Adelaide Hills. Although from a low yielding vintage, the elegance and restrained power of this excellent wine are captivating.
The intensity is evident from the outset. Powerful blackberry and dark chocolate scents escape from the glass upon pouring. Aromas of nutmeg and tilled earth step up too. I had this wine in the glass for a few hours and its changed regularly. Super fine peppery spices and licks of smoked meats partner the fruit beautifully. Peel back another layer to reveal black pepper and a granite like minerality. Powdery tannins sit long and point to many years yet. Brilliant!
