There's not a lot of Friulano in Australia but there are now two sites I'm aware of in the Mornington Peninsula region. This is one of those wines you'd be happy absorbing the scents as you try and dissect all the interesting aromas present.
Pale yellow in the glass, it has a golden sunrise look about out. Yellow flowers and yellow fruits reach out early. Scents of mandarin peel, green mango and citrus flower too. In the mouth it's generous and filling. Great width with a generous texture layered on thick - a result of 60% seeing time in old oak for four months. Poached apple, white fleshed stone fruit plus some raw cashews. A grapefruit acidity brings water to the mouth but that texture just hangs leaving a lemon pith character to consider. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey with this one.
Drink to five years.
