Quite an earthy Shiraz. Not the clean cut, buttoned up suit kinda character you may be seeking.
Lots of char and ash early too. The dark fruit has a meaty edge - think charcuterie. There's a tension and firm feel but you get a sense the fruit is being held back unable to show its true form. Perhaps a little more time may help? Still, with a snag off the BBQ or a steak, it will go well.
Drink to five years.
