Angullong Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Cool climate Cabernet ticking the boxes coming at you from Orange, NSW, the vineyard sits 600 metres above.

These new release wines from Angullong are honest and reliable. Check the Merlot and Shiraz - both representing good value.

This Cabernet ticks the varietal box. Choc mint, blackcurrants and black olives spill from the glass. It moves from fruit to savoury and back again. Dried Mediterranean herbs and those olives drive through the mid-palate. The fruit ticks away nicely without being obtrusive. A dab of Ribena like sweetness and some chocolatey oak bring things to a close. Good drinking for a roast.

Drink to five years.
