A big and rounded Barbera from the Yarra Valley.
Grown on Pinot Noir rootstock which is now 25 years old, it's an earthy wine with charred edges. There's an easy flow about it, lashings of tomato bush and dried herbs envelope dark berry fruit. What seems to be a lemony like acidity knocks everything into shape. I'd happily have a glass or two on Italian night.
Drink to three years.
