Nanny Goat Pinot Noir 2018

Deliciously savoury, this is a fabulous example of Central Otago Pinot Noir. In the words of winemaker Alan Peters-Oswald, "We aim for the fruit to express itself rather than working it hard to express itself."

The 2018 stood out at the Nanny Goat Masterclass earlier this year when it was sat alongside similar wines in its bracket.

Dark plums, licks of dark chocolate and well handled spice get the juices flowing early. Dark cherries find their groove. The savoury goodness then clicks into gear - twigs, puffs of earth, a dribble of of cola and a touch of clove. The depth and density is fabulous filling the mouth with ease and lingering long.

I picked this up in retail land recently for $32 - excellent buying in my book.
