Jansz Pontos Hills Vintage Cuvée 2017

A new Cuvée released to speak of its place rather than the sum of the parts and it is superb! Released to celebrate the new Pontos Hills winery (formerly Frogmore Creek), the good folk at Jansz are excited about this new location for the next generation of Jansz sparkling wines in Tasmania.

The first vines were planted on the site in 1986, and as a tribute, 1986 bottles of this wine were produced. Opening with scents of little white flowers that move to lemons and an almond nuttiness, thirty-three months in bottle on yeast lees has delivered soft brioche, a creamy drive and touches of biscuit. A blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, it draws out a long, sustained finish with a persistent bead. So pure and simply beautiful, it is a fizz well worth popping for a celebration or just because.

Drink now to five years.
