Margan Wines Ceres Hill Albariño 2021

It's time to stretch your curiosity this spring and summer people. Rush at this super fresh Albariño from Margan Wines. This is something!

Off a single vineyard that is sustainably farmed, Margan Wines ought to be on your radar. The 15 minute drive from Pokolbin is well worth it - the glorious vistas of the Broke Range and red soils are captivating. Stay awhile and feast in the exceptional restaurant on site too.

The Margans were the first to plant Albarino in the Hunter in 2014. Two hectares of red alluvial soils make a home for this Iberian variety.

Splash it in your glass to reveal limes and lime leaf with a minerally drive with a flash of white pepper. So refreshing, the crisp acidity keeps this buzzing and skipping on the balls of its feet. A ribbon of citrus pith adds to the textural grip. I'm thinking tempura prawns or a few oysters. And why not? There's an indulgent feel to this medium-bodied white. Black book this.
