Sourced from two Adelaide Hills vineyards, the fruit for this Chardonnay was harvested over three weeks before seeing French oak for six months.
Green mango, lemon juice and lemon sherbet early. Quite tangy, the acid rides high on the palate. Some time in the glass reveals a sly lick of cashews. A wine that flies the "modern Chardonnay" flag although the acid pushes the mark that bit too much for me. Paired back a little and it would be a more rounded package. All that aside, enjoy with food and the acid will be tempered. Perhaps some aging will help here too.
