Patrick of Coonawarra Méthod Eucalypt 2020

A lightish Cabernet with a playful and dancy side. It moves and sways with ease. I reckon this would take a slight chill in warmer months too. Slot it right into the pop 'n' pour category as generous pours aren't out of the question.

The exploration of Cabernet is clear at Patrick. Australia is a country littered with eucalyptus trees, a leaf or two in a picking bin has the potential to impact the ferment. I've had several conversations with winemakers about this topic the years.

A clever take here with a bottle oozing great shelf presence. Embrace the freshness. Cassis, blackberries, dried herbs, roasted peppers. Not surprisingly, there is a menthol and eucalyptus note. Stalky and a bit stemmy which pegs it back a bit. It doesn't overtake the profile but it is there if you look for it. Mind you, I could be persuaded to give an extra point given the ease that this slides down.

Drink to three years.
