A new wine in the Hofer range it seems. I can't recall coming across one prior. Aglianico from South Australia's Southern Fleurieu.
Tight and tense, the noose is pulled hard here. It's stemmy and green. Bitter is probably the better term. Underripe blackberries and underripe green apple. Time in the glass shows some licorice. I had it open for a few hours, mind you, and it did little to bend its shape. It's hard to get through I must say. Perhaps a few years of bottle age will be the antidote? For now, it's hard to recommend.
83/100
