Geoff Merrill Mount Hurtle Shiraz 2014

With already six years of age under its belt, this is a wine in great shape with many years ahead of it.

Dark chocolate and red berries are prominent, this spent 29 months in new and old American and French oak. The oak overplays its hand slightly with caramel looming large, but the fruit has enough depth to stand against it. Some meaty and char highlights come late. Long and fine, soft spices roll out to a persistent finish.
