Just gorgeous. So pretty and nimble, this Main Ridge Pinot evolved beautifully in the glass. This 2020 vintage comes with a jazzed up new label, but I don't have a pic to share so it's back to the old for now. Don't let that deter you, this is a treasure deluxe.
The Main Ridge Block was planted to aromatic clones, and as winemaker Simon Black says, "They produce purity, perfume and poise." They sure do. Seeing 27% new oak, it unfurled wonderfully over a few days.
Some juicy dark cherry, char, undergrowth earthy. But it's super fine, svelte feels steal the show. Dried red flowers entice as the glorious weight waltzes through the mouth. A touch of warm courtesy of the fine spices, but it leaves the mouth humming for more. Gloriously balanced with red apple acidity, pillows of powdery tannins cap off a superb Pinot Noir.
