There is some bunchy goodness in this Merricks Pinot. Laced with wonderful spices, it doesn't push through the mouth as much as its siblings.
Red cherries run rings round the mouth early. Mushroom compost and puffs of undergrowth, there is a respectable depth here. Layers of interest keep revealing themselves with a tension evident on close. There is more density to wade through than the Main Ridge and North One mind you, but some more persistence on the finish would be ideal. Oh to be picky.
Drink to eight years.
