Pirate Cru Wines Slurpy Puppy Grenache 2018

Fancy finding a $25 wine that comes from 100 year old+ vines. An entry-level wine for Pirate Cru Wines, the crowd-pleasing appeal here is sky-high. It even picked under a full blood red harvest moon.

The name 'Slurpy Puppy' is a cheeky take-off of Chateauneuf du Pape... Du Pape - da puppy - you get it...

Juicy fruit, this is an easy-going red that screams food friendliness. Red berries drive the bus. The mouth is coated respectably with layered spices on close. It just seems to go on and on. The weight is the clincher here. Wonderfully medium-bodied, burger night, wood fired pizza, all that. It's good gear.

Drink to three years.
