Yelland and Papps Grenache 2021

The 2020 release of this wine was one of my top picks in my book, Grenache - Barossa Grown. This 2021 is a great example of picking a little earlier as the fruit retains its energy with a delicious red apple crunch.

The winemaking in this range of wines from Yelland and Papps delivers plenty of textural and savoury interest ensuring each vintage release demonstrates its own personality.

Opening with sour blue fruit and purple fruits, raspberries peer through but need to be content with a view from the back seat. There is a little citrus acidity early but this settles and folds into the finish well. The use of whole bunches add their textural persuasion with a delicate brush of interest across the tongue. A hint of meatiness chimes in late for good measure. A wonderfully enjoyable Grenache.

Drink to five years.
