A bit of old-school charm, this flagship Lienert Estate Laudamus Shiraz is named after pioneering father John A Lienert 1941-2014. Meaty, black dense fruit plus some warmth, I took a likening to it as time went on.
Big black fruits and big oak, all I could think of on opening was a chocolate brownie. Tasted over three days, it opened up beautifully. Some char and smokiness rippled through but dark chocolate, cloves, dried herbs roll on and seem endless. Peppered steak and pan juices to close, this will sleep comfortably for a long time should you choose to put it away. Very well done.
