A smooth and lacy Barossa Shiraz - just like its maker. This is quite something and not your usual big Barossan. Nor is it weighed down by oak. The heaviest thing about it is the bottle - eye-catching shelf presence 101.
Let it breathe and it sings. Each time I swirled the glass something else rose to the surface to captivate me. Beef stock, mushrooms, dark plums and mulberries. Superfine spices add to its absolute moreishness. It's one of those wines you happily keep going back to. Drying tannins add to that yearning for more with a long, persistent finish capping things off beautifully. A most impressive wine, what's more, the Chardonnay and Grenache make a pretty awesome trio.
Drink to eight years.
