I tasted this Albarino at the recent Hunter Valley Legends and Tourism Awards media famil. I'm guessing this is Mount Broke's first release of the variety.
Apologies for the Verdelho bottle shot but the Albarino is not listed on the website at this stage. The labels are the same except for one word... Given the other whites are $200 a dozen I'm guessing this is the same?? Anyway, I'm happy to be corrected.
A good wine this. Plenty of texture highlights the mouthfeel. Bigger than expected, a nuttiness trundles along. Soft spice with a minerally presence too, it plants itself mid-palate and holds on for a long finish. A solid lunchtime option with arancini balls or a bowl of chips out of the air fryer.
