Ox Hardy Upper Tintara Vineyard Shiraz 2018

I described the 2017 as workmanlike and rustic. Nothing has really changed with this 2018. If anything, they are two very consistent releases. Tick.

Dense dark fruits slip through quicker than expected. I came back to it a day later and it seemed to find some grip - decant to drink now is the tip. Licorice, dark chocolate, charry oak, some cedar, even some cola all want a piece of the action. Dusty, drying tannins stick and seemingly don't want to budge. There is a density here that lovers of old school McLaren Vale will enjoy. A side of steak and chips for me thanks chef.

Drink to eight years.

91/100
