Juniper Cornerstone Karridale Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

A keeper that will reward well beyond a decade, this Cabernet blend from Juniper is a worth hanging out for.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot (89/6/5) from Karridale in the Margaret River, it saw 15 days on skins and 18 months in French oak (40% new). It opens with blackcurrants and blackberries that consume the mouth. Bay leaf, tomato bush and dried herbs play a neat hand alongside expected tobacco, some old leather and roasted peppers. Its youth is telling for now but this is a keeper. Invest the time I say. Although it shows great width and length, that tension is the key indicator for a long future. Powdery tannins are starting to take shape. Impressive gear this.
