Balgownie Estate Viognier 2021

Barrel fermented and seeing six months in French oak, this Viognier from the Bendigo region is a tidy drink.

Pardon the bottle pic above, but the website didn't have the Viognier listed. You get the idea of the bottle from the Chardonnay image shown.

The fruit was picked on two different occasions with each parcel whole bunch pressed to oak.

Fresh apricots and apricot nectar get things underway with some nougat and cream sliding in. Quite lean, it prances about with ease. Linear through the mouth, it goes well and is a respectable wine. Find a shady tree and share with cheeseboards and big smiles. I'd happily have a glass.

Drink to three years.
