Dappled Appellation Chardonnay 2021

Silky. Delicious. Some good depth too. This Dappled Chardonnay is the perfect partner to walk arm in arm with the Pinot Noir 2021 release.

Sourced from three Yarra Valley vineyards, 20% saw new French oak the remainder in older oak. Wild fermented, the wine was on lees for ten months and some MLF took place but wasn't encouraged.

Vanilla cream, ribbons of caramel, panna cotta - there are some captivating creamy things going on here. Green apple, white nectarines and juicy lemons launch the fruit profile. It's delicate, brittle almost. A wine that tiptoes through the mouth ever so carefully but soon gets comfortable and relaxes. That creaminess and subtle nuttiness builds some gorgeous momentum that leaves a long trail of pleasure in its wake. A little twist of grapefruit on the finish is the parting gift. Just beautiful and excellent buying for the money.
