My last look at this Wild Game The Duke Cabernet was from the 2012 vintage. At the time I suggested it could be the bargain of the year for $22 with eight years bottle age. This 2014 release has similar age but the price has skipped up. It's still a ripping deal no less.
The value this represents given the age is exceptional. A quality Coonawarra Shiraz hands down. All you are doing here is winning.
The Good Doctor knows best. A muscular wine busting out with Tannat leading the charge, there is an elegance about its carry that I find irresistible. I loved the 2012 release and my sentiments haven't changed with this 2014.
Jansz's Late Disgorged Vintage Cuvée 2014 has been held back to age on lees for an extra four years. The added complexity that the additional time has given this wonderful sparkling is telling. It's just another example of why consumers should drink more Australian sparkling rather than French imports.
If aged Riesling is your thing, surely Patrick is already on your radar. Time and time again they produce the goods and this 2014 aged release is no different. Hitting the shelves with eight years bottle age, there is still a long future ahead of this excellent wine.
Michael and Susan Papps' ability to keep their customers immersed in a journey of texture and elegance deserves respect. Their creativity with the Second Take range does this impressively but this Limited Cuvée range just cranks the dial that bit more adding prestige on a grand scale. And, oh my, this Shiraz is something.
Pushing Grenache to the limits. This wine is not about being a "Barossa" Grenache per se. It's an expression of the variety and a culmination of acquired learning over years of winemaking. It's pulverising - you'll love it or not.
