Redman Wines Shiraz 2021

For $22.50 this is superb value. Decant and reap the reward. What a beauty! Don't for a second think Coonawarra is a one trick pony because there are some excellent parcels of Shiraz about the place ready for you to dive into. Blackbook this Redman release.

de Iuliis Estate Shiraz 2020

Full disclosure on this one... I spent some time in the Hunter Valley during the 2020 vintage and I had my mitts in this wine. Daily checks, punch downs, I even shovelled it out (in near record time I'm led to believe). For $25, year after year this is a great drink. Some creative googling will land you a $20 bargain - what a steal!

Mount Langhi Bili Bili Shiraz 2021

It's been a while since I've seen a Billi Billi Shiraz. The last time was at a wedding many years ago. Classic function centre wine, this is reliable and is quite the bargain for 20 bucks.

Oxford Landing Stargazing Juicy Red 2022

Summer red wine drinking. That's what this is. Part of the new Oxford Landing range, it's a joyous red that will take a chill. And I reckon it drinks way better with a chill too. Perfect for those warmer days if you feel like something with a little more body than what a white wine can offer.

Nuova Scuola La Maria 2022

If a textural delight is your weakness, head on this way. Made from two Portuguese varieties (Fernao Pires and Verdelho), it's well worth checking out.

Yalumba Y Series Pinot Noir 2022

To be released in early 2023, winemaker Sam Wigan is pretty excited about this and sent a pre-release sneak peek my way. This is another Y Series bargain worth keeping an eye out for.

Hesketh Twist of Fate Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Coming from the Limestone Coast and peak Cabernet Sauvignon territory, this is a tidy wine for 15 bucks.

O’Leary Walker Watervale Riesling 2022

Deliciously fragrant, this is a super expression of Watervale Riesling. From a year that mirrored the outstanding 2002, get in the queue for this ripping 2022.

Raidis Estate The Kid Riesling 2022

A quick look at the new Riesling release from Raidis Estate at the recent Coonawarra Roadshow tasting. Hello spring! This is a ripper! The last time I reviewed it was back in 2019. Nothing has changed - the quality is still sky high and the price screams extreme value.

Dappled Appellation Pinot Noir 2021

Boom! A serious contender for the best value wine of the year. I could neck the contents in quick time. Such a considered, delightful and damn impressive Pinot Noir from the Upper Yarra Valley. That thing about run don't walk - yes!

Yalumba Y Series Viognier 2021

The Rick Astley of the Yalumba Y Series range. It's never gonna give you up, it's never gonna let you down and it's never gonna run around and desert you - only because it's readily available. A crazy good Viognier for the money.

Leeuwin Estate Art Series Riesling 2021

Clever. Very clever. A Riesling that is bursting with freshness for now yet has some tension readying itself for later. But I'm happy with it now to wash down some calamari or fresh prawns and some sea spray blowing on my face. Excellent buying for the asking price!

Holm Oak Pinot Noir 2020

One of my workmates asked me to recommend a Tassie Pinot for under $30. That's nonsense - quality and Tassie Pinot under $30 don't generally go in the same sentence. Sure you can find a couple, but serious Pinot lovers don't always have pockets laced with diamonds. So, my top tip was this Holm Oak. Some crafting online searching and she snared some of this for $28 - winning! You will be winning too if you get this in your glass for that money.

De Iuliis Rosé 2021

Chill hard and pour large. What an absolute beauty this is! A little crafty online research will help you nab this for $17 which is insane value. Go here.

d'Arenberg The Hermit Crab Viognier Marsanne 2021

This Viognier Marsanne blend from d'Arenberg continues to soar. A most impressive wine for the asking price, $19 is too cheap. Chardonnay lovers would be most satisfied here for something different.

d'Arenberg The Dry Dam Riesling 2021

Ripping value! Chill hard and pour large in the sun.
