I met Kate Day, one of the two Kates behind the In Two Minds label, on my recent trip to Mudgee. Although Mudgee based, she makes her wines interstate with her sister-in-law Katherine Day, drawing parcels of fruit from a range of regions. An excitable and passionate winemaker, she says this wine pays homage to Don Lewis who was a great mentor in her early years.
Wonderfully textural with a faint minerally vibe, this Ovetelli Blanc is making quite a name for itself.
More funk than Funky Cold Medina and more layers than those Instagram rainbow layer cakes, this is an absolute joy to drink. Cool, considered, and edgy, it's a wine that hits the high hats time and again.

Welcome to the debut Ovitelli Blanc release. A magnificent wine, there is plenty going on as you'd expect from Yangarra Estate. The back label states, "Renowned for our Grenache and respecting the distant homelands of this variety, we planted its white varietal cousins." Lovers of texture and interest ought to dip their oar in.
Becoming a grandfather has certainly softened Tim Smith. He only used to make a Riesling and Viognier. Now he's blending white and making a Rosé. Who is this guy?
Drink this though. It's good. Very good! I feel all levels of Parisian drinking it. Classy and then some.
Layered and textured, there is plenty to admire and adore. Part of the Samuel's Collection, this range represents great drinking. This Roussanne is Yalumba's entry-level and it's a fab alternative to Chardonnay.
I've said it before, these Lienert wines have such impressive shelf appeal. This is a damn good Roussanne too - a win-win.
This Guigal arrived as part of a sample pack from Yalumba in readiness for International Viognier Day on 30 April. If you were to describe this wine using an emoji, it would be 'meh'.

Always so intriguing. Always so delicious. If interest and complexity float your boat, get your oar and paddle this way. Autumn is the season for textured whites and this rockets to the top of that list ready to deliver supreme joy.
Fleshy and rounded, I like the cut of this wine's jib. Perhaps we need to start a Roussanne Appreciation Society? I'd commence the journey with this wine - great value for $22 and it's certified organic too.

Just like the rollercoaster for little kids at the theme park, this slowly works into the corners and maneuvers about with ease as though it's on rails. When you want a white with some personality, hello Roussanne!
A terrifically long and textural blend here from Heathocote's Tellurian Wines. Roussanne, Marsanne and Grenache Gris come together and what a fabulous debut it is! More like this, please.
This is a wonderful blend. It is a wine with so much going on and so much interest.
There is so much interest to peruse with this wine. Not fined nor filtered, this Roussanne is from the Barossa's Yelland & Papps is in its raw form and generates maximum impact.
