Many elements of this wine presented well but others left me scratching my head.
A nose of black fruit and a slight whiff of leather, but in the end it was quite placid with nothing jumping out of the glass.
Black fruits flowed onto the palate with a touch of sweetness (14% abv), but to me it felt a little angular and disjointed. Big juicy tannins with a drying finish.
I'd be interested to see what a few more years does here as I'm confident the wine will improve into a neat package, but keeping in mind it is already an '08.
