More dark fruit than what the Main Ridge dished up. The famed MV6 clone is at play here on clay loam soil at an elevation of 30 metres.
Think juicy dark cherries and dry undergrowth plus mushroom compost. A pinch of savoury herbs and an ever so fine touch of spice leads to a super long and deliciously soft finish
The complexity of this wine edged it over the Main Ridge for me. It just has that extra depth that I like in a Pinot. Pure class from winemaker Simon Black.
Excellent.
