This release of Chardonnay delivers rockmelon, peach and nutty aromas. It's on the woody side so those in the no Chardy wood camp might not make friends with this.
The palate has some depth and weight to it but the warmth that comes with it just sits and lurks. It's like that friend who is always the last to leave the party - but doesn't. Even after tasting this on the second day there was not much change. A smokey character washes through late which adds another layer of interest, but that blanket of warmth is something I just can't shrug. Had I tasted this with food perhaps the outcome would have been different.
