Quite an interesting pairing here. A yin and yang style that seems to work.
This starts off smooth with a drop of sweetness before an abrasive edge is revealed. The mid palate was lacking a little oomph however.
Pan juices, raspberry rope, nutty savoury type things going on. The finish is bitter. I found the Jacquez component really flexes its muscle, and whilst the percentage is not known, it certainly makes its presence felt.
I'd have a glass with something slow cooked or beefy but not much more. There is some cold night wintery appeal here.
