My preferred Pinot of the three single vineyard wines. Wallis was also my pick of the single vineyard Chardonnays too.
The Wallis vineyard sits on the southern side of Main Ridge. As with the McCutcheon, all fruit was destemmed and a mixture of new and old French oak used for 16 months.
Fleshier than its siblings, the delivery is more balanced. Dark fruits, cloves and wood spices. Time in the glass brings forth some red berries with the oak having a gentle influence here. The balance and the appeal here is hard to pass up.
The sold out sign has already been posted on the website too.
Drink up to ten years.
