Hollick Shiraz 2013

Wrattonbully doesn't get as much kudos as big brother Coonawarra down the road, but the quality of the fruit from the region cannot be denied.

A big and powerful Shiraz here, yet it presents with a calming disposition. Having spent 18 months in French and American oak, black fruits and berries rein supreme. There's a little fruit sweetness, there's a little oak sweetness. Oak is integrated well mind you, it's Caramelo Koala like, as it strolls effortlessly to a long, puckering finish.

The depth kept calling me back for another glass, so I did.

Drink now to eight years.
