Jim Brand Yates Chardonnay 2015
My first look at a wine from Jim Brand and I like what I see. Interestingly, the Brand's are some of the largest land holders in the Coonawarra region - I always like finding out little bits of info like that.
A delicious Chardy from what is seen as red wine country. Barrel fermented, fruit delivery is consistent which a richness to it. Raw cashews, whipped butter, yellow stone fruit, vanilla and a drop of caramel tick the boxes as does a grapefruit tang. There's a thick smear of fruit across the palate to appease on a long finish.
I'd have a glass or two easy. It passed the roast pork test so I'm happy.
Drink now to five years.
90/100 - Very good
