Meerea Park Indie Marsanne Roussanne 2015
There's not much Marsanne or Roussanne in the Hunter Valley. There's bugger all really. This fruit comes from the Lockleven Estate - Meerea Park are renowned for sourcing fruit.
And interesting, complex and captivating wine. Smells of under ripe mango skin, peaches and custard apple with perhaps a hint of pineapple husk. Subtle yellow florals kick in late too.
The fruit has a creamy swath about it. Those stone fruit characters roll through with ease. Quite complex and weighty yet there's a calming presence about it. I've been informed it has been paired with veal at a prominent Hunter Valley restaurant, and it would match that with grace knowing what I do now.
Drink now to five years.
