Young Granite Belt Shiraz shows its roots with a granite minerality - not surprising really. Ten years on and that trait appears to have melted away. Dark berry fruits swamp the palate. Aromas of clove and sandalwood plus pencil shavings. Fine and supple to finish with a delicate powder and chalk like finish. Generous without being overbearing - classy Shiraz.
The 2007 is no longer available yet the 2016 can be found for a mere $24 - the vines are now 50+ years old. Terrific value.
Drink now to five years.
