Silkman Shiraz Pinot Noir 2018

Brilliant. Just brilliant! And this is proof you don't have to spend up big to indulge in exceptional wines. I found this on the shelf at an independent wine store for $28.

From a superb Hunter Valley vintage, it seems the release into retail land has beaten the website as I couldn't locate it online. (The 2017 bottle shot has been used above but you get the gist).

Seductively medium-bodied, mulberries, raspberries and sour cherries give a loving caress. Succulent and smooth, that weight is the clincher. You get a sense the fruit is floating on pillows of pleasure through the mouth. Delicate fine spices flow through with absolute ease yet linger as they dance away to a beautiful and persistent finish. This is madness for $28. Over to you.

Drink to five years.
