Of Light and Shadow. If only life could be so simple. But perhaps, within that, Tim Shand from Punt Road Winery can show us it can be with super delicious expressions of Pinot Noir such as this.
Made exclusively for a supermarket chain, this Pinot Noir is fresh and lip-smacking in equal doses. It's dancy and pretty and rolls out the welcome mat. Made with 40% whole bunches and seeing 9 months in oak, it is not fined or filtered - the Shand fingerprints couldn't be more prevalent.
Red cherries, rhubarb and strawberries light up the senses. Fine spices skirt the edges before honing in on the mid-palate. Dangerously nimble on its feet, earthy feels nip at your heels and those fine spices keep you curious. The gorgeous medium-bodied presence has you seeking more each time. A very clever wine. Hypnotic perhaps. Well played Mr Shand.
